A boat built to sail, not to stay in marinas
ALCYONE is a proven bluewater cruising catamaran, selected and optimized after several circumnavigations.
Simple, reliable and fast, she has been prepared to sail long distances with full autonomy and minimal dependence on marinas.
👉 This is not a promise.
👉 This is a proven sailing program.
Overview
ALCYONE is a 2004 Outremer 55 Light, one of the last units built before the passing of the founder and designer Gérard Danson.
With only around thirty units produced, this model is widely recognized as the best design of the first-generation Outremer range: fast, strong, and extremely reliable.
This is our second 55 Light, after PAPOOSE, on which we completed a full family circumnavigation (1998–2005). This experience gave us a deep understanding of the boat and its capabilities.
Purchased in New Zealand in 2017 (3rd owner), ALCYONE has been carefully refitted and optimized before sailing again across the Pacific.
Since 2021, she has been based in French Polynesia, on the remote atoll of Amanu, and continuously maintained with permanent onboard presence.
