APPENDIX 1 – ONBOARD INVENTORY
Tools, spare parts, equipment, supplies and all movable items (excluding bedding and galley equipment)
except bedding n kitchen
The inventory may appear extensive, but there are good reasons for it.
• A complete two-year refit (2017–2018).
When we purchased ALCYONE in New Zealand in 2017, she was almost empty. We spent two haul-out seasons in Whangarei progressively rebuilding and equipping the boat from scratch.
• Maximum autonomy.
ALCYONE was prepared to operate independently for extended periods in remote areas. At one time or another, every spare part, tool or consumable carried on board has proved useful.
• A boat designed to carry the load.
The Outremer 55 Light is a long, lightweight catamaran with an excellent payload capacity, allowing a comprehensive inventory without compromising her sailing qualities.
• Shared between two skippers.
For the past five years, ALCYONE has been operated by two skippers. This has required meticulous maintenance and a carefully organised storage system, where every tool, spare part and piece of equipment has its dedicated place.
• The pleasure of doing your own maintenance.
With time, the right tools and today's technical resources—including ChatGPT—maintenance and repairs become surprisingly straightforward, enjoyable and often rewarding, especially when giving a second life to materials or useful items found on remote reefs.

Sur PAPOOSE ou ALCYONE, pas trouvé de meilleure solution avant de préparer des sashimis.
L' OUTREMER 55LIGHT EST CATAMARAN HORS DU COMMUN: C'EST AUSSI UN INVESTISSEMENT AU REGARD DE L'EVOLUTION DE SA COTE COMPAREE AVEC CELLEE DE SES RIVAUX DES ANNEES 2000. BIEN UTILISE ET ENTRETENU, IL CONTINUERA A PRENDRE DE LA VALEUR.
QUESTION BUDGET...Pladoyer pour le partage d'un catamaran
Après avoir été propriétaires pendant de nombreuses années, nous avons été séduit par notre dernière formule, sorte de timesharing: 2 familles se partagent investissement, entretien et utilisation du bateau: les transitions sont très rapides et il peut même y avoir des navigations communes.
SI VOUS ETES A LA RETRAITE AVEC UN LOGEMENT EN EUROPE ET QUE VOUS NE CRAIGNEZ PAS L'AVION: PARTAGEZ VOTRE CATAMARAN !
La meilleure solution pour garder un catamaran de cette taille quand on a trouvé ce qu'on aime et que l'on ne veut plus bouger autant qu'avant, c'est de partager l’utilisation du bateau en deux, pas forcément en 2 parts égales avec une famille de confiance; Décaler les saisons de 1 ou 2 mois chaque année s'il le faut permet à chaque famille de profiter d'uen partie de la bonne saision et la formule présente beaucoup d'avantages.
1) Pas d'overdose comme cela arrive souvent après plusieurs années, ou on peut se trouver "prisonnier du bateau"; à l'inverse y retourner chaque année est un vrai plaisir, surtout s'il y a une vraie différence de confort avec la maison et c’est le cas avec ALCYONE !
2) Rapidité de la transition entre les 2 propriétaires avec quelques affaires perso/jouets qui peuvent rester à bord (chacun garde dans "son" flotteur un coffre sous une couchette pour cela); de plus il y a de la place à bord pour naviguer à 2 familles pour un projet commun pendant les transitions.
3) Pas la longue ni de pénible corvée de désarmement/rinçage lorsque l'on stocke le bateau en chantier pour rentrer en France plusieurs mois…c’est indispensable pour trouver a retour un bateau nickel et bien sûr on évite aussi le travail inverse, tout est réglé en 1/2 journée .
4) Beaucoup moins cher au niveau de tous les coûts, et l'entretien peut reste au top; en le divisant en 2, on "upgrade" sans hésiter le bateau chaque année.
5) Plus sécurisant en cas de pépin météo ou autre car l'autre propriétaire à terre peut aider (info, relai...) y compris pour l'envoi de pièces s'il ne les emmène pas avec lui lors de son transit.
Exemple, Notre deal avec Bertrand: Helena avait désiré s'arrêter de naviguer en après notre passage en basse Californie et donc nous emmenions doucement le bateau en Nouvelle Zélande dans le but de le mettre en vente au dry dock de Whangarei ... En passant par notre atoll préféré, ALCYONE a partagé un mouillage avec ELISE, le petit catamaran très bien tenu de Bertrand. Nous nous connaissions depuis 25 ans depuis un premier passage du canal de Panama, lui sur son monocoque, nous sur notre trimaran; mais surtout, 5 ans plus tard, nous nous étions retrouvés au GAMBIER pour 2 mois inoubliables avec les enfants... Bertrand y était arrivé en bateau et s’était lancé dans la culture de la perle. Il avait pris sa retraite depuis et vivait en 2021 à AMANU, en grande partie de pêche lors de cette 3ème rencontre; quelques échanges plus tard, nous avons donc décidé de vendre son petit catamaran et de partager ALCYONE pour 5 ans... nous voilà en 2026 à la fin de ce deal et les avantages de la formule de sont montrés plus que convaincants:
- Pas d'assurance sauf au tiers car il y a toujours un propriétaire à bord et l’atoll présente peu de risque: par an 900€
- Droits de francisation annuels réduits: par an 800€
- Pas de place de port, pas de marina car ALCYONE est soit sur son corps mort, soit à l'ancre: 0 frais au lien de 17000 à 30000€ si on a la chance de trouver => par an 0€
- Un levée chantier à Raiatea avec quelques travaux normaux (ex changement bagues, joints, etc) seulement tous les 2 ans soit 2600€ au lieu de 5000€ en faisant le carénage nous même: les moteurs sont équipés de lignes d’arbres, non de saildrive et l'eau claire permet de tenir 2 ans en nettoyant les coques: 2600€ pour 2 ans => par an 1300€
- Remplacement ou amélioration dans équipements pour que le catamaran prenne de la valeur (plotter, winches…trampoline, voiles...) facilité par l'A/R annuel avec la métropole cela nous a coûté 9000€/an => par an 9000€
SOIT UN TOTAL TOUT COMPRIS POUR LE BATEAU DE 12000 € par an (= 1000€/an)
La solution la plus économique est la copropriété à 2 ou 3 avec 3 contraintes :
> La première contrainte est l’aller retour annuel: 3500$ par copropriétaire ex Nice-Papeete-Hao-Amanu- Hao-Papeete-Nice avec les transits obligatoires à Tahiti => 3500€/an
-> La seconde est de trouver le - les- partenaire-s de confiance, mais c'est plus facile lorsque que la bateau est 100% temps utilisé et la passation ne dure qu'une seule journée (le cata est assez grand pour loger tout le monde pour quelques jours s'il le faut.
-> La troisiéme est bien sûr d'avoir du temps libre et de disposer d'un logement quand on est pas à bord (En Europe ou ailleurs)
Nous avons pratiqué ce deal avec Bertrand: il nous a permis de profiter du bateau et de la Polynesie 5 ans de plus, et cette dernière année, le catamaran n’a jamais été aussi beau !
EXEMPLE: UTILISATION DU CATAMARAN EN POLYNESIE SEUL OU EN COPROPRIETE:

=> Coût moyen annuel du bateau seul en moyenne 12000€/an au total pour le bateau
=> Coût A/R Nice-Papeete-Hao-Amanu-Hao-Papeete-Nice avec transit Papeete. 1max 3500€ € donc
=> Un seul propriétaire pour 1 an d'utilisation = 15500/an
=> Un couple propriétaire pour 1 an d'utilisation = 19000/an
=> si 2 propriétaires => chaque propriétaire pour 6 mois d'utilsation = 9500/an
=> si 2 couples proprietaires => chaque couple pour 6 mois d'utilisation = 13000/an
=> si 3 propriétaires => chaque propriétaire pour 4 mois d'utilisation = 7500/an
=> Si 3 couples propriétaires => chaque couple pour 4 mois d'usage = 11000/an
mouillage lagon ou offshore dans du gros temps, Alcyone est a l'aise partout dans le Pacifique... ...et une alternative isloée plus agréable qu'un bunker en cas de gros pépin géopolitique !
